Commissions

Every commissioned piece at Studio Zbils begins with a conversation. Whether you're looking for a one-of-a-kind illustration for your home, a gift for someone you love, or something created just for you — the process is collaborative from start to finish.

Here's how it works:

1. Share Your Vision Tell me what you have in mind. The more you share, the better — inspiration images, references, mood boards, or even just a feeling are all welcome. I'll also ask about the intended use of the piece (personal display, gifting, commercial use, etc.), your sizing and color preferences, and whether you'd like a print or a digital file.

2. Estimate & Agreement Once I have a clear picture of your vision, I'll come back to you with a timeline and a price estimate based on your preferences and the estimated cost of production. No surprises — we agree on everything before work begins.

3. First Draft Midway through the project, I'll share a first draft for your review. At this stage the composition and line work are in place, but color and shading haven't been applied yet — so it's the perfect moment to align on direction before the piece is brought to life.

4. Pre-Print Review Before anything goes to print, you'll receive a second version for final approval. This is your chance to make sure everything looks exactly as you imagined.

5. Delivery Once approved, your print is on its way. Boston-based clients are welcome to receive their piece in person — for everyone else, it'll be carefully packaged and shipped to your door.
